Doctors, hospitals, IVs and some other fun

Well starting on 8/9 Roarke was not feeling well and throwing up a bit. By his drs appt on Wed he was really throwing up but he was still active so the dr wasn't too alarmed but didn't give him his immunizations. Thursday morning found us in the hospital where he was admitted for severe dehydration. He had an IV and a billion tests, they found a heart murmur (hooray...) and we stayed there until Saturday afternoon/evening...
Meemaw and Pop were nice enough to take Ada (as she was yelling at the drs and nurses as they would make Roarke cry whenever they came in the room and trying to order chocolate milk on the hospital room phone) down to my brother and sis in laws place in Arlington VA as they just moved back to the states for a bit from China. She had a much better time.
So here are just a few pics of my poor little guy in the hospital. He had to stay in the crib most of the time as he had an IV tube in his arm and therefore couldn't walk too far and he didn't always want to be held. He kept pulling on the IV and bending his arm so they had to put on what's called a "No-No" so he looks like he's in a cast...at least the hospital part is over for now and we are now in full operation mode of "Get-Roarke-to-gain-more-weight-or-else-this-could-happen-again as he is now back to his meager 17 lbs and he needs some more mass or we are going to just paint his poking out bones so he can be skeleton boy for Halloween...

So sad!!!

The latest

So I didn't have a lot of pictures this time so I am going to make up for it. Last time I had a lot of words, no pictures and some videos. This time: hardly any words, lots of videos and lots of pictures. Hope you are all satiated!!
My way too skinny son. This new outfit is a 12 month one...
What is this?

In Taggie Heaven and making a run for it with all his new Taggie stuff: a taggies ball, dog and book!

He loves his new Goodnight Maine book!

His felt book

Daddy was so proud...except when he found out his son was to skinny to wear it...

He LOVES to walk around with this dog in tow!

A closeup of some of his Taggie stuff

This is Adas' favorite new toy of Roarkes'

Opening presents...he was more than happy to sit there and let me do the manual labor!

Ada trying to take her own picture, with the camera the wrong way!

Meemaw chillin' at the party

A favorite birthday pasttime: coloring on the window. She is still admiring her artwork!

Roarkes' face when I said, "Smile!"

Uncle Perry chillin in the backyard

Roarke didn't really like his cupcake all that much...I think I did too good of a job with him and the whole no-refined-sugar-thing...He ate a few bites, but that was the extent of it.

Cousin Bobby also eating his fill of his cupcake. He made a much bigger mess!

"Here Roarke. It tastes good I promise!"

A great birthday picture!

Ada biding her time...waiting for the opportune moment...

Looks like Goofy is holding up the cake!

A more comprehensive look at the cake. Roarke wanted to have a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday complete with the Hot Dog Dance (please watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Channel- it's kind of cute!)

Yes! She sat still long enough for me to put her hair in pigtails!!

Playing in a puddle

Cowgirl Ada!

She loves her purses! She even takes them to church.
As we made Ada her Build a Bear monkey when she was about a year old, we figured it was time to get Roarke one! He walked right in and picked up a panda, an owl and this wolf. Getting him to choose just one was kind of hard! He LOVES it and sleeps with it, but after his birthday party it falls short of how much he loves his new Taggie stuff...

He thinks it's so much fun to put on Adas' backpack

Thanks All! And don't forget to check out the plethora of videos on YouTube!
